Promotion of Internal Tourism Highlighted in Burkinabè Newspapers


OUAGADOUGOU — Burkinabè newspapers have turned their attention to the promotion of internal tourism following an excursion by government members to “the city of a thousand colors,” Pô, on Saturday.



According to Burkina Information Agency, the visit, led by Minister of Tourism Rimtalba Jean Emmanuel Ouédraogo, was aimed at promoting internal tourism by highlighting the cultural identity of Burkina Faso. The visit to the royal court of Tiébélé, a UNESCO World Heritage site, was a symbolic gesture to underscore the responsibility of preserving and promoting the nation’s cultural heritage.



L’Observateur Palgaa, another leading newspaper, noted the exceptional beauty of the 500-year-old site, emphasizing the unique architecture and decoration that make Tiébélé a cultural treasure. Minister Ouédraogo praised the local population and the royal court for their efforts in preserving the site, stating that the UNESCO recognition on July 26, 2024, is a collective victory for the community.



The coverage in the Burkinabè press underscores the government’s commitment to fostering internal tourism and ensuring that cultural heritage sites like Tiébélé continue to be preserved and celebrated.
