Yolande communication organized from April 28 to May 1, 2023 in Léo, capital of the province of Sissili, in the Center-West region, the 3rd edition of the “Festival garba” to magnify cassava cultivation and its labelling.
Yolande communication organized from April 28 to May 1, 2023 in Léo, the 3rd edition of the “Festival garba” to promote labeled attiéké in Burkina Faso and particularly in the province of Sissili. The ceremony took place under the patronage of the high commissioner of the province of Sissili, Tewendé Isaac Sia.
It is in this dynamic that she initiated a festival called “Festival Garba”, the first edition of which took place in 2019.
For 72 hours, the “city of tubers” vibrated to the rhythm of sound and colors, through various artistic performances. For this third edition, a point of honor was granted to the promotion and consumption of “attiéké made in Burkina”.
For the president of the special delegation of the commune of Léo, Kassoum Koalaga, attiéké is produced in Burkina thanks to the resilience of the groups and associations of brave women.
<< The organization of a festival to promote labeled attiéké is an initiative that deserves to be accompanied and supported>>
he indicated.
He wanted the festival to be a crossroads for business and for sharing experiences between the various players in the sector.
The High Commissioner of Sissili Province, Tewendé Isaac Sia hailed the determination of the protest organizers for their vision to boost cassava production in the nationally recognized province.
Mr. Sia also informed the valiant processors and restorers that the “Festival garba” is an advocacy forum made available to them to recognize their efforts in cassava processing.
“Should we continue to import attiéké from the Ivory Coast while we produce cassava, the basic material?” he wondered.
For the high commissioner of the province, if the philosophy of the festival is well understood, it will allow cassava producers in Sissili to increase their production capacities and promote the strengthening of processors’ skills on quality and hygiene.
He pleaded for a search for appropriate strategies to better support processors and producers in achieving the Sankarist vision “Let’s produce and consume Burkina Faso”.
The first manager of Yolande communication, who is also a promoter of the Garba Festival, Olivier Bamouni was delighted with the strong mobilization of the population, who came from all over the province.
According to him, the mobilization of the population testifies to the interest it attaches to the event.
Olivier Bamouni conveyed his gratitude to all partners and local authorities for the success of the “Festival garba”.
