Zambezi Region – Over the weekend, Project Never Walk Alone (PNWA) distributed 1,700 pairs of shoes to schoolchildren in the Zambezi Region, with an investment totaling N.dollars 700,000.
According to Namibia Press Agency, the project also allocated N.dollars 190,000 for logistics and lunches for the participating children, as part of a broader N.dollars 890,000 expenditure. Funding for the initiative came from several sources, including the Arrechanab Community Trust which contributed N.dollars 500,000, UnityTrust with N.dollars 150,000, Momentum Metropolitan Empowerment Trust providing N.dollars 140,000, and Breakwater Marine Industries with N.dollars 100,000. The shoe handover events were held at Katima Mulilo Combined School and Caprivi Senior Secondary School, with Zambezi Chief Regional Officer Regina Ndopu attending on behalf of Governor Lawrence Sampofu. Ekandjo also announced plans for PNWA to extend its outreach to the Kharas and Oshana regions in the coming months and called for additional partnerships to support these efforts. PNWA Ambassador Ann Singer noted that the project has distributed over 12,200 pairs of shoes across nine regions to date.
