Icolo e bengo: Auzlio Jacob, governor of the Icolo e Bengo province, stated that the widening and rehabilitation of roads in the province are intended to enhance the flow of agricultural products and address the needs of the population. The governor made these remarks during the reception ceremony for President Joo Louren§o, who is visiting the province to inspect National Roads 110 (Catete/Cabala/Muxima) and 230 (Catete/Maria Teresa).
According to Angola Press News Agency, construction on National Road 110 (Catete/Cabala) is currently 52.8% complete physically and 15.0% complete financially. Approximately 81 hydraulic passages have been rehabilitated, and over 100 streetlights were replaced on the 17th of September Bridge, also known as the Cabala Bridge. The Cabala/Muxima section, approximately 62 kilometers long, will undergo maintenance only after the completion of Section 1, as it has not significantly deteriorated.
President Joo Louren§o also reviewed the EN230 project, which is budgeted at 78 million kwanzas. The project is 62% complete physically and 38% complete financially. The 54-kilometer initiative commenced in October 2023 and is slated for completion in September of this year. During the visit, the governor announced that the future provincial government headquarters will be constructed adjacent to the Jardim do Poeta Maior on National Road 230 in Catete.
