Sydney — On Sunday, thousands of pro-Palestinian demonstrators marched through Sydney and other key Australian cities, advocating for an immediate halt to hostilities in the Middle East. The Sydney march began in the afternoon at Hyde Park, with participants waving flags of Palestine and Lebanon and carrying placards demanding a ceasefire and the liberation of Palestine.

According to Namibia Press Agency, Josh Lees, a spokesperson for the Palestine Action Group Sydney, the organizing body of the event, emphasized the diverse backgrounds of those gathered. The protests were marked by chants supporting Palestine and Lebanon. Assistant Commissioner Peter McKenna of the New South Wales Police commended the demonstrators for maintaining peace throughout the event, which drew an estimated 10,000 participants in Sydney’s central business district.

Simultaneous pro-Palestinian rallies occurred in Melbourne and Adelaide, as reported by Australian ABC News. While the Melbourne demonstration saw approximately 7,000 participants, Victoria Police reported that four individuals were arrested due to public order-related incidents, although no significant disruptions were noted.
