Prizes Awarded at Komondjari Cultural Activities Closure

Komondjari: The Gay©ri Basic Education District recently concluded its cultural and sporting activities with a vibrant celebration from Friday, May 2 to Saturday, May 3, 2025, with numerous prizes awarded in various competitions.



According to Burkina Information Agency, the event took place at Gay©ri ‘A’ School and included a diverse range of activities such as athletics, traditional and modern dances, recitals, and football. The program was packed with school parades, traditional and modern dances, athletics competitions, recitals, and the highly anticipated CEB Resilience Cup final.



The first day featured athletics competitions, parades showcasing traditional attire from different schools, and performances highlighting both traditional and modern dance forms. Culinary arts were also displayed, adding to the festive atmosphere. On the second day, a popular cross-country race was held, accompanied by aerobics sessions, board games, and a gala match between the Defense and Security Forces and teachers. The day culminated in the final match of the OSCEP, where the Ou© school team competed against Yadgou.



Following the final match, prizes were distributed to outstanding participants. These included cash rewards, sets of jerseys, and balls, recognizing both individual and collective achievements. The event was attended by administrative authorities, military personnel, teachers, students, and parents, all of whom contributed to an enjoyable and successful celebration.



Raogo Darankoum, Head of the district, expressed his satisfaction with the event’s success, thanking Emmanuel Lankoand©, the President of the interim special delegation of Gay©ri, and other contributors for their support. Darankoum acknowledged the generous contributions of donors and partners, which were crucial in facilitating the activities. “Thanks to you, the children experienced an enriching and memorable adventure,” he stated.



Representing the sponsor, Pastor Haro Yempabou commended the organizers for their dedication despite the challenging security situation. He praised the teachers, educational supervisors, and students for their resilience and commitment to overcoming organizational challenges. Yempabou expressed his readiness to support similar initiatives in the future, emphasizing the importance of education and the role of teachers in fostering patriotic values among students.



Pastor Yempabou concluded by encouraging students to embody order and discipline, while expressing gratitude to the CCEB Education Department and educational staff for the opportunity to sponsor the event.
