Prime Minister Visits Military Forces in Centre-West to Bolster Anti-Terrorism Efforts

Koudougou: Prime Minister Rimtalba Jean Emmanuel Ou©draogo visited several military detachments in the Centre-West region to show solidarity and encouragement for the troops combating terrorism. Accompanied by key ministers, the Prime Minister expressed the government’s support and recognition for the military’s achievements in 2024.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the Prime Minister was accompanied by ministers responsible for security, justice, humanitarian action, and health as they visited military detachments in Lerou, Yinga, Gao, and the Airborne Intervention Brigade of Koudougou. Mandated by President Captain Ibrahim Traor©, Ou©draogo praised the forces for their resilience and commitment to maintaining Burkina Faso’s sovereignty.

“This is a message of recognition and encouragement for the significant achievements made throughout 2024,” Ou©draogo stated. He emphasized the government’s solidarity with both the military forces and the local populations, assuring them that the state remains attentive to their daily challenges. The Prime Minister underscored the importance of security for the nation’s stability and sovereignty.

At each military site, Ou©draogo discussed the significance of the ongoing conflict, describing it as a historic fight for freedom and sovereignty in Burkina Faso and the entire AES Confederated Space. He urged that no part of the country should be beyond the control of national authorities.

To intensify the fight against terrorism, the Prime Minister highlighted plans to enhance military capabilities with better equipment and logistics. He expressed hope that 2025 would mark the year of Burkina Faso’s total victory over terrorism.

The government delegation received a warm reception from local communities, with blessings and congratulations offered in Cassou and enthusiastic welcomes in Gao. During the visit, humanitarian aid of 20 tonnes of corn was provided to the resettled populations in Gao, further solidifying the community’s support for the government’s efforts.
