Prime Minister of Burkina Faso Commends Embassy Staff in Beijing for Bolstering Sino-Burkinabe Relations

BEIJING — Prime Minister Apollinaire Joachimson Kyelème de Tambèla, representing Burkina Faso, expressed appreciation to the staff of the Burkinabe Embassy in Beijing for their efforts in enhancing relations between Burkina Faso and China. His remarks were made on Thursday during the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the Prime Minister relayed congratulations from Captain Ibrahim Traoré, the President of Burkina Faso, praising the embassy staff for their role in maintaining robust bilateral ties. He highlighted the President’s satisfaction with the team, whose work has kept the diplomatic relations between the two nations in a healthy state.

During his address, Prime Minister Kyelème de Tambèla also urged the embassy to broaden the scope of cooperation to include cultural exchanges, culinary arts, cinema, and sports. He emphasized Burkina Faso’s eagerness to host Chinese delegations at major cultural events such as the Fespaco film festival, the SNC (National Culture Week), and the Tour du Faso cycling race.

The Burkinabe Ambassador in Beijing responded positively, confirming that plans are already in motion to foster a cultural blend between the peoples of Burkina Faso and China, potentially featuring Chinese participation in the upcoming edition of Fespaco.

Prime Minister Kyelème de Tambèla’s visit to Beijing underscores the strategic importance of Sino-Burkinabe relations as part of a broader engagement between Africa and China aimed at fostering modernization and constructing a high-level China-Africa community with a shared future.
