Prime Minister meets UN Resident Coordinator and Representative in Tunisia

Prime Minister Najla Bouden met Arnaud Péral, UN Resident Coordinator and Representative in Tunisia, at the Government Palace in Kasbah on Wednesday.

The meeting made it possible to stress the need to coordinate efforts to adapt the organisation’s development programme for Tunisia in the next three years to the new National Development Plan 2023-2025.

In this context, the Prime Minister called for the development programmes proposed for Tunisia to be modified to focus on the government’s priorities in several areas, including the social and solidarity economy, the empowerment of women and youth, business creation and regular migration.

Bouden also reviewed the reforms undertaken in the economic, political and social fields and reiterated the government’s commitment to continue on the path of reform, despite the difficulties it faces.

For his part, the UN official welcomed the Prime Minister’s proposal to coordinate with the various structures involved on the priorities to be taken into account.

He expressed the UN’s readiness to support Tunisia in its reform process.
