Prime Minister Commends SOBTO’s Progress in Bobo-Dioulasso

Guiriko: Prime Minister Rimtalba Jean Emmanuel Ouedraogo is satisfied with SOBTO's performance in Bobo-Dioulasso. Prime Minister Rimtalba Jean Emmanuel Ouedraogo visited the Burkinabe Tomato Company (SOBTO) in Bobo-Dioulasso, Guiriko region, to learn about the operations of this industrial unit specializing in tomato processing.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the head of government toured the various facilities of the factory and learned about the entire tomato processing chain, from the reception of the raw material to the production of the concentrate. This visit allowed him to appreciate the level of organization and the technical capabilities of the industrial unit.

At the end of the visit, Rimtalba Jean Emmanuel Ouedraogo expressed his satisfaction with the results already achieved by SOBTO. He indicated that the government would continue its deliberations to enable the company to consolidate its economic position while maintaining the quality of the products it brings to market.

The Prime Minister also praised the commitment and professionalism of the factory's staff and management. According to him, SOBTO represents much more than a simple industrial unit. "It embodies the realization of a vision championed by the Head of State and made possible thanks to the mobilization of the Burkinab¨ people through popular shareholding," he declared.

Inaugurated in November 2024, the Burkinabe Tomato Company is already showing encouraging results. The factory has created nearly one hundred permanent jobs, in addition to several hundred seasonal jobs generated around the tomato production and supply chain.

The Prime Minister reiterated that the establishment of this industrial unit is part of the national strategy for industrialization and food self-sufficiency championed by the President of Burkina Faso, Captain Ibrahim Traore. "We leave feeling very reassured and satisfied with what we have seen. We met staff and management who are dedicated to producing high-quality tomato paste," he stated, adding that this collective commitment will create the conditions for a profound transformation of the national economy.

For Karim Traore, Director General of the Agency for the Promotion of Community Entrepreneurship (APEC), the Prime Minister's visit sends a strong signal. He expressed his satisfaction with the Prime Minister's tour of the factory and the advice and guidance provided to improve the company's performance.
