ADDIS ABABA – Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed has highlighted the dual role of the Ethiopian National Defense Forces (ENDF) in both safeguarding the nation’s sovereignty and aiding its development. In a recent social media post, the Prime Minister praised the ENDF’s involvement in various national projects beyond their traditional defense duties.

According to the Ethiopian News Agency, the ENDF’s contributions to wheat production, agricultural activities, the Green Legacy environmental initiative, and various industrial sectors are crucial for Ethiopia’s development and prosperity. He emphasized that the military’s role extends beyond ensuring peace to being a significant driver of innovation and economic growth. The Prime Minister stressed the importance of continuing and enhancing these multidimensional efforts to achieve sustained progress and development.
