Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed Inaugurates Women’s Rehabilitation Center in Addis Ababa

Addis Ababa – Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed inaugurated the ‘Lenegewa’ Women’s Rehabilitation and Skill Development Center, a new facility aimed at transforming the lives of vulnerable women in Addis Ababa.



According to Ethiopian News Agency, The center, which consists of 13 buildings, provides comprehensive support, including education, vocational training, psychological support, and medical services. It is designed to empower women through skill development in various fields, such as computer literacy, textiles, electronics, and hospitality, among others. During the opening ceremony, Prime Minister Abiy highlighted the project’s importance in societal improvement and its potential to uplift 10,000 women from challenging circumstances.



Adanech Abiebie, the center symbolizes a commitment to gender equality and the empowerment of women, aiming to create lasting change and a brighter future for participants. The ‘Lenegewa’ Center, completed in just 10 months, also includes a library, a gymnasium, sports facilities, and urban agriculture projects, reflecting a holistic approach to personal and professional development for women.
