ADDIS ABABA – Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed has extended his congratulations to President Mohamed Ould Ghazouani of the Republic of Mauritania upon his recent assumption as the Chair of the African Union (AU). The commendation was conveyed through a post on the Prime Minister’s official Facebook account following a bilateral meeting held this morning.

According to Ethiopian News Agency, the meeting was not only an opportunity to congratulate President Ghazouani but also a moment to engage in in-depth discussions on both national and critical continental issues. “During this morning’s bilateral meeting, I had the honor of personally congratulating President Mohamed Ould Ghazouani of the Republic of Mauritania on his recent assumption of the AU Chair,” Abiy stated. The discussions underscored Ethiopia’s commitment to addressing continental matters alongside its African counterparts.
