DESSIE — During his visit to development projects in Dessie, Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed emphasized the crucial role of peace and unity in accelerating Ethiopia’s development. Meeting with local residents, the Prime Minister praised the community’s spirit and discussed national priorities.

According to Ethiopian News Agency, Ethiopia’s history of resisting colonization, despite economic challenges, stands as a testament to the nation’s resilience and unity. He drew parallels between the historical feats of past generations and the current need for collective effort to overcome poverty and advance national development. The Prime Minister called for this generation to emulate their ancestors’ courage in defending Ethiopia’s sovereignty by working together to defeat poverty.

Prime Minister Abiy also highlighted the government’s commitment to its duties, noting that ongoing efforts are marked by diligence, honesty, and faithfulness, which have led to significant national achievements. He encouraged all citizens to foster a collaborative, forgiving, and trusting environment to further national progress.
