Bazèga Hosts Cohesion Day to Strengthen Bonds Between Residents and Security Forces

Kombissiri, Burkina Faso – The Bazèga province, through its provincial directorate of sports and leisure, organized a day of cohesion between the population and the defense and security forces (FDS) on Saturday, November 18, 2023, in Kombissiri.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the event aimed to enhance collaboration between the local community and the FDS of Bazèga province. A variety of sports activities, including a popular cross-country race, an aerobics session, and a maracana match, were organized in collaboration with the provincial directorates in charge of youth, the national police, and the national gendarmerie brigade of Kombissiri. Participants included students, informal workers, administration workers, and members of the FDS, who all participated in a friendly and united atmosphere.

Ibrahim Lompo, the provincial director of the national police of Bazèga, highlighted the importance of the event in reinforcing the bond between the population and the FDS. Hamidou Yarbanga, president of the special delegation of the commune of Kombissiri, echoed this sentiment, noting the significance of such events in the collective fight against insecurity in the province.

The day concluded with a gala match between the local population and the FDS, ending in a 1-1 draw. The event was well-received by all participants, demonstrating the positive impact of community engagement in fostering security and unity.
