Seoul: The presidential office announced plans to receive public recommendations for the appointment of Cabinet ministers and vice ministers, fulfilling a new administration pledge to empower citizens in governance. Recommendations will be accepted for a week starting Tuesday through a dedicated website managed by the Ministry of Personnel Management, according to presidential spokesperson Kang Yu-jung.
According to Ethiopian News Agency, citizens can also propose candidates via President Lee Jae-myung’s official social media accounts and email. Kang emphasized the administration’s commitment to transparency and fairness in personnel selection, stating, “The Lee Jae-myung administration will open wide the doors of the government ruled by the people by actively discovering genuine talent through a transparent and fair personnel recommendation system.”
Lee Jae-myung’s campaign promise included the adoption of this public recommendation system. Kang noted that recommended individuals will undergo comprehensive personnel screening and a public vetting process before being officially appointed to their positions.
