President Traoré Urges Employers to Turn Small Burkinabe Firms into Multinationals


Ouagadougou: Burkinabe President Captain Ibrahim Traoré urged employers on Thursday to promote small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and help large companies grow into multinationals, according to Idrissa Nassa, President of the National Council of Burkinabe Employers (CNPB).



According to Burkina Information Agency, Traoré met with a delegation of Burkinabe employers, as well as business representatives from Mali, Niger, Benin, Senegal, Ivory Coast, Togo, and the Burkinabe diaspora in the United States. During the meeting, Traoré emphasized the importance of SMEs and encouraged the private sector to play a greater role in the country’s economic and social development.



The delegation was in Ouagadougou for the general assembly of the Burkinabe private sector, which runs from September 5 to 7, 2024, and marks the 50th anniversary of the CNPB. The assembly is focused on the private sector’s contribution to the country’s development and aims to tackle challenges and future opportunities.
