President Traoré to Continue without Re-oath Following Charter Amendment

OUAGADOUGOU — Following the recent modification of the Transition Charter, President Ibrahim Traoré will not be required to take the oath of office again, despite the extension of his mandate by an additional five years starting July 2, 2024, as confirmed by the Minister of Justice, Rodrigue Bayala on Monday evening.

According to Burkina Information Agency, which were altered on May 25, 2024, the re-oath is deemed unnecessary for President Traoré to continue his presidency.
