President Traoré Commends Burkina Faso Public Media for Outstanding Efforts, Donates Equipment

Ouagadougou - In a significant show of support for the public media, Captain Ibrahim Traoré, the President of the Transition in Burkina Faso, presented a substantial amount of technical equipment to the Radiodiffusion Télévision du Burkina (RTB) and Editions Sidwaya on Friday. The gesture came as an acknowledgment of the media's sacrifices and commendable work in conjunction with the Fighting Forces.

According to Burkina Information Agency, during a visit to the RTB headquarters, President Traoré, accompanied by his Minister of Communication, Rimtalba Jean Emmanuel Ouédraogo, handed over the equipment and expressed his gratitude for the media's consistent efforts despite limited resources. He praised their exceptional performance and hoped the new equipment would enable them to work under better conditions in the future.

President Traoré revealed that pilots and co-pilots regularly tune into the 8 p.m. news broadcast to gauge their own work, highlighting a "symbiosis" between the journalists and the Fighting Forces. He emphasized the significant impact of media reporting on the morale of the fighters, urging the media to continue working in a manner that galvanizes and encourages them.

Additionally, President Traoré recognized the crucial role of many media outlets in supporting the dynamic of reconquering territorial integrity from terrorists.

Galip Atéridar Somé, head of RTB, and Assétou Badoh, head of Editions Sidwaya, expressed deep gratitude to President Traoré and Minister Ouédraogo for both the encouragement and the high-quality equipment, which effectively meets their operational needs. They assured their commitment to working diligently with their teams alongside the Fighting Forces until the final victory is achieved.
