Ouagadougou: “We are indeed in the midst of a popular progressive revolution,” declared the President of Faso, Captain Ibrahim Traor©, emphasizing that “democracy is only the outcome” of a process. The President made these remarks during a flag-raising ceremony held in Ouagadougou, which occurs every first Monday of the month.
According to Burkina Information Agency, President Traor© stressed the importance of understanding the ongoing transformation in Burkina Faso. He expressed surprise that some intellectuals believe a country can develop within a democratic framework, asserting that democracy is merely the culmination of a revolutionary process. The President insisted that everyone must comprehend and embrace their role in communicating and explaining the nature of the current revolution.
Captain Traor© further stated that democracy, along with its accompanying liberties which he associates with disorder, has no place in a nation undergoing a revolution. He reiterated that Burkina Faso is committed to this revolutionary path, urging citizens to align with this vision for the country’s future.
