Koudougou: The President of Faso, Head of State, Captain Ibrahim Traor©, held direct discussions with the Forces Vives of the Plateau-Central region at midday on Thursday.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the meeting was an opportunity for Captain Ibrahim Traor© to announce decisive actions in response to the concerns expressed by the region's key stakeholders. The President emphasized these measures aim for the country's independence and the reclamation of its entire territory.
Captain Traor© advocated for a paradigm shift, urging a change in mentality to effectively combat terrorism, which he attributes to imperialist forces exploiting religion to manipulate communities. He called on religious leaders to promote peace and encourage those misled to disarm, reiterating his commitment: "We will recover all of our territory."
The President also urged the population to disengage from certain international media outlets, which he claims are tools of imperialism designed to manipulate information and sow division. He advised the elderly to guide the youth in fostering patriotism through their actions.
Furthermore, Captain Traor© highlighted the need for economic operators to collaborate on major projects to drive Burkina Faso's development. He criticized the current tendency of operators to work independently with limited resources and urged them to unite to form larger companies capable of executing significant public contracts.
Addressing financial matters, Captain Ibrahim Traor© announced the payment of the domestic debt. He urged banks to release 25% interest on term deposits from state-owned companies to facilitate this payment, setting a compliance deadline of March 2025. Additionally, he mentioned ongoing initiatives aimed at ensuring broader access to the benefits of economic growth and reducing consumer goods prices.
