BOBO-DIOULASSO – The President of the Legislative Assembly of the Transition (ALT), Dr. Ousmane Bougma, expressed appreciation for the cultural displays of Burkinabè and African communities during his visit to the National Culture Week (SNC) in Bobo-Dioulasso on Wednesday.
According to Burkina Information Agency, President Bougma was particularly impressed by the cultural identity showcased at the event. He highlighted the significance of cultural heritage in Burkina Faso, noting, “What I remember about these sites is the cultural expression. Whether at the level of the army museum, whether at the level of the village of the communities, it is the cultural identity that is expressed. The cultural DNA of Burkina Faso.” He emphasized that this cultural DNA serves as a reminder of the struggles faced by ancestors to build the nation.
During his visit, President Bougma toured exhibitions representing 31 Burkinabè communities and 14 African communities, praising the social cohesion they demonstrated. He remarked on the diversity and richness of cultures present, reflecting on the notion that “culture is the soul of a people,” as stated by the Head of State in his speech.
