Luanda: President Joo Louren§o received a congratulatory message from the Cuban government for the 50th anniversary of Angola's National Independence, which will be celebrated on November 11. The message was delivered by Juan Esteban Lazo Hern¡ndez, Speaker of the National Assembly of People's Power of Cuba, who was a special envoy from the Cuban Head of State, Miguel Daz-Canel Bermºdez. The audience took place at the Presidential Palace.
According to Angola Press News Agency, the meeting included the Director for Sub-Saharan Africa of the Cuban Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Luis Alberto Nº±ez. He explained that President Louren§o received two official messages, one from President Daz-Canel and another from Army General Raºl Castro Ruz, acknowledging the historic significance of Angola's independence for Africa. Nº±ez noted that the Cuban people appreciate the recognition expressed by Angola towards Cuba's role in preserving Angola's independence, highlighting the contributions of the Cuban Revolution during challenging times in Angolan history.
The Speaker of the Cuban National Assembly also conveyed gratitude for the decoration awarded to Fidel Castro Ruz and Raºl Castro Ruz during the Independence Jubilee celebrations. Luis Nº±ez expressed the emotional impact of this gesture on the Cuban people, stating that November 11 is a significant date not only for Angola but for Africa and the world.
In addition to the Cuban delegation, President Louren§o received a congratulatory message from King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud of Saudi Arabia. This message was delivered by the Saudi ambassador to Angola, Ali Saad Alkahtani, who attended the independence jubilee celebrations as a representative of Saudi Arabia. Alkahtani expressed the honor felt by the Saudi government to be part of the celebration and conveyed greetings from King Salman and Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud.
Alkahtani further conveyed Saudi Arabia's wishes for Angola's continued prosperity and happiness and emphasized the desire to strengthen the cooperative relations between the two nations.
