President Joo Louren§o Announces Expansion of TAAG Fleet


Luanda: President Joo Louren§o announced on Wednesday in Luanda that TAAG – Angolan Airline will strengthen its fleet with new modern aircraft by 2027, as part of the national airline’s modernization and expansion process.



According to Angola Press News Agency, in his State of the Nation address, the president said that TAAG has already integrated five new-generation aircraft, two Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners and three Airbus A220-300s. The renewal plan includes the acquisition of a further 15 Airbus A220-300s and four Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners over the next two years to increase transport capacity and operational efficiency.



The president noted that with 20 aircraft currently in operation, the flag carrier provides regular flights to 12 domestic, nine regional, and four intercontinental destinations. These figures are expected to grow with the arrival of new aircraft and the opening of new international routes, consolidating Angola’s position as an air hub in Southern Africa.



Joo Louren§o emphasized that the modernization of TAAG represents a qualitative leap forward in national air transport, improving passenger comfort, reducing operating costs, and increasing the company’s competitiveness in the regional and global market.
