President Joo Louren§o Accredits Five New Non-Resident Ambassadors

Luanda: A total of five new ambassadors with non-resident status presented their letters of credentials to the Angolan Head of State, Joo Louren§o, in Luanda on Wednesday.

According to Angola Press News Agency, the ceremony took place in the Noble Hall of the Presidential Palace, where President Joo Louren§o received the letters of credentials from the Ambassador of Peru, Jos© Javier Shaw. Shaw, 59, has previously served in France, Spain, Argentina, and Russia, and is currently based in Pretoria, South Africa.

Also included in the list was the Ambassador of South Sudan, Simon Duke Michel, who resides in Pretoria as well. With 17 years of diplomatic experience, Michel has previously served in Uganda and Burundi.

On separate occasions, the Angolan statesman accredited the heads of the diplomatic missions from Belarus, represented by Lhar Marshalau, 51, who has a background in finance. Neem Ullah Khan, from the Islamic Republic of Pakistan and resident in Rwanda, was also accredited; Khan has prior experience in Spain, Cuba, Argentina, and Canada.

Completing the list, Qatari Ambassador Mubarak Bin Al-Khalifa, a diplomat with 26 years of experience in Libya and Georgia, and currently residing in Pretoria, was also accredited.

During the ceremonies, President Louren§o held private meetings with each of the diplomats, lasting about 15 minutes each.
