Dubai: President Joo Louren§o travelled on Monday to Dubai, United Arab Emirates, to participate in the World Governments Summit, which will be held from the 3rd to the 5th of the current month. At the 4 de Fevereiro International Airport, the Head of State was bid farewell by the Vice-President of the Republic, Esperan§a da Costa, and members of the government.
According to Angola Press News Agency, over two days, high-level delegations will address an agenda filled with current issues, discussing leadership beyond national borders and the value of partnerships as factors that drive the future. The summit is regarded as one of the largest global forums dedicated to governance, public policy, and international leadership, taking place under the motto "Shaping Future Governments." It will be attended by more than 45 Heads of State and Government, senior government officials, and multilateral organizations, as well as executives from large multinational companies.
Joo Louren§o is among the keynote speakers on the second day of the summit, participating in sessions dedicated to the future of investment in Africa, international cooperation, and the role of governments in promoting sustainable economic growth. This occurs in a global context marked by geopolitical instability, digital transformation, and increasing social pressures. He will join a panel with the Presidents of Tanzania, Zimbabwe, Botswana, Sierra Leone, and Ghana to discuss the structural challenges of the African continent, opportunities for attracting foreign investment, and the institutional reforms needed to strengthen the confidence of international markets.
The "World Governments Summit 2026" is expected to gather more than 6,250 participants, including policymakers, academics, business leaders, and global experts, distributed across more than 445 sessions and thematic panels. The debates will cover topics such as global governance, artificial intelligence, the digital economy, sustainability, mobility, education, and public policy. The event will also produce 36 strategic reports in partnership with international knowledge institutions and launch the third edition of the "Global Ministers Survey," an instrument that assesses trends and priorities in public governance worldwide.
For the first time, the summit will host the "World Laureates Summit," bringing Nobel Prize winners and renowned scientists into policy discussions, with the expected participation of around 130 scientists.
