Djibo, Burkina Faso – President Captain Ibrahim Traoré paid tribute to the Combatant Forces for their successful defense against a terrorist attack in Djibo on Sunday, November 26. In a speech delivered on his behalf by Minister of Health, Lucien Robert Kargougou, President Traoré praised the forces for their decisive action against the terrorists.
According to Burkina Information Agency, heavily armed terrorists attacked Djibo, but were repelled by the military, supported by air forces, leaving hundreds of terrorists dead.
President Traoré described Djibo as an impregnable symbol of Burkina Faso’s resilience and commitment to defending its territory against terrorism. He also observed a minute of silence in honor of the patriots who have fallen in the fight against terrorism.
This statement was made on the sidelines of the inauguration of a new 300-bed hospital construction project in Gaoua, South-West Burkina Faso.
