Luanda: The President of the Democratic Republic of Congo, F©lix Tshisekedi, arrived in the Angolan capital on Monday to participate in the US-Africa Summit, taking place from 22 to 25 of this month. At the 4 de Fevereiro International Airport, the statesman received welcome greetings from the Angolan Minister of Foreign Affairs, T©te Ant³nio.
According to Angola Press News Agency, several African country Presidents, such as those of Botswana, Duma Boko, Ethiopia, Taye Selassie, Gabon, Brice Nguema, and Namibia, Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah, are already in the country to participate in the event. Organized by the Corporate Council on Africa, in partnership with the Angolan Government, the Summit will take place under the motto “Paths to Prosperity” and more than 2,600 participants have already been confirmed, including business leaders, businessmen, and government officials from the United States and Africa.
For four days, topics related to the development of trade, investment, and economic partnerships in sectors such as electricity, infrastructure, agribusiness, digital technologies, health, and creative industries, among others, will be addressed. The event’s program includes high-level plenary sessions, sectoral dialogues, private roundtables, networking sessions, and an exhibition of technological solutions.
The Summit coincides with the year in which Angola celebrates 50 years of national independence, to be marked on November 11. Since 1997, the CCA has hosted sixteen editions of the U.S.-Africa Business Summit, alternating between the United States, in cities such as Washington, Baltimore, Chicago, and more recently, Dallas, and countries on the African continent, such as South Africa, Ethiopia, Mozambique, Morocco, and Botswana.
