President Confident in Skills of New Inspector General of State Administration

Luanda: The President of the Republic, Joo Louren§o, highlighted on Friday in Luanda the technical skills, management experience, and leadership capacity of Felisbela Maria da Costa Pereira Francisco, who was sworn into office as Inspector General of State Administration (IGAE).

According to Angola Press News Agency, the President's decision to appoint Felisbela Francisco reflects a commitment to fostering a new generation of national professionals. This choice is particularly noteworthy given her previous exemplary performance, notably as the head of the Agricultural Development Support Fund (FADA).

Joo Louren§o acknowledged that Felisbela Francisco's new role as Inspector General differs from her previous work in agricultural development, yet he expressed confidence in her abilities, citing her robust professional and academic background. "The country is counting on you not only for the present, but above all for the future," the President stated, wishing her success in her new position.

The President also urged Felisbela Francisco to approach her role with strategic vision and a long-term perspective. He emphasized the importance of strengthening oversight, transparency, and good governance within public administration.

Felisbela Maria da Costa Pereira Francisco succeeds Joo Manuel Francisco, who was elected Ombudsman by the National Assembly. As a senior civil servant, she has significant experience within the General Inspectorate of State Administration (IGAE), where she served as Senior Inspector, overseeing the control and monitoring of public bodies and services.

In 2023, she took on the presidency of the Board of Directors of the Agricultural Development Support Fund, which focuses on financing and promoting the national agricultural sector. The swearing-in ceremony was attended by the Vice-President of the Republic, Esperan§a da Costa, Ministers of State, and other members of the Executive.
