President Assimi Goïta Confirms Mali’s Security Situation Is Stable

OUAGADOUGOU - During a state visit to Burkina Faso, Malian President Colonel Assimi Goïta assured that the security situation in Mali is under control. Speaking on Tuesday in Ouagadougou, President Goïta conveyed confidence in the ongoing stability and efforts in Mali.

According to Colonel Goïta, the Malian Armed Forces (FAMA) have maintained strategic control across the country, successfully destroying terrorist bases, neutralizing key terrorist leaders, and compelling the surrender of numerous active insurgents. He highlighted the restoration of government administration and essential social services across various localities as a significant achievement under his administration. President Goïta also credited the FAMA with securing important national processes such as the referendum and inter-Malian dialogue. His visit to Burkina Faso marks his first official engagement with Burkinabè leader, Captain Ibrahim Traoré, emphasizing the strengthening of ties and collaboration between the two nations amidst regional security challenges.
