Positive Assessment of April’s Activities in Djibo and a Call for Increased Collective Vigilance

Djibo: The Secretary General of the Soum province, Mr. Losseni Woni, representing the High Commissioner, gave a satisfactory report on the activities of the month of April in Djibo on Monday, while calling on the population to be more vigilant in the face of security challenges, on the occasion of the ceremony of raising the national colors held in the premises of the High Commission.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the administrative authority presented the report on the activities of the past month, which it described as generally satisfactory in view of the actions carried out in several sectors.

On the security front, the Secretary-General stressed the need for heightened vigilance from everyone. He urged the public to cooperate closely with the Defense and Security Forces (FDS) by reporting any suspicious or unknown individuals. He further reiterated that no one should shelter a stranger without immediately informing the appropriate authorities.

Addressing the administrative and educational aspects, he praised the smooth running of the professional competitions as well as the organization, for the first time in Djibo, of the entrance competition to the Kadiogo Military Prytanee (PMK).

In terms of solidarity, the Secretary-General mentioned the outreach mission carried out by the High Commissioner, Mr. Wend Nere Wilfried Tougma, to internally displaced persons in Kaya, Ouagadougou and Kongoussi, reflecting the commitment of the authorities alongside the affected populations.

Regarding cultural influence, he commended the remarkable participation of the Soum province in the National Culture Week (SNC).

Regarding governance, he noted the appointment of representatives from the region to the Transitional Legislative Assembly (ALT).

Mr. Woni invited all stakeholders to maintain the dynamic of collaboration and collective responsibility in order to effectively address security challenges and continue development efforts in the province.

The ceremony brought together provincial directors and heads of services, representatives of key stakeholders, as well as leaders of non-governmental organizations, associations, and cooperatives.
