Portuguese Prime Minister Arrives in Angolan Capital for AU-EU Summit

Luanda: The Prime Minister of Portugal, Luis Montenegro, arrived in the Angolan capital, Luanda, on Sunday morning to participate in the 7th African Union-European Union Summit, which is set to take place on November 24 and 25. At the '4 de Fevereiro' International Airport, he was welcomed by Manuel Homem, the Minister of the Interior.

According to Angola Press News Agency, the presence of Lu­s Montenegro adds to the diplomatic atmosphere in Luanda, which has been hosting several foreign delegations since Saturday in preparation for the summit. Key figures already in the city include Lejeune Mbella Mbella, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Cameroon, and Mohamed Mbae, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Comoros.

The summit will also see the participation of Nilzar Baraka, Minister of Equipment and Water of Morocco, who is representing King Mohammed VI. In addition, Liisa-Ly Pakosta, Minister of Justice of Estonia, is present to represent the Estonian President, alongside Uganda's Prime Minister, Robinah Nabbanja.
