Portuguese Government Privileges Top Level Dialogue with Angola

Luanda: The Portuguese government will continue to prioritize high-level political dialogue and bolster economic relations with Angolan authorities, announced the ambassador of Portugal in Angola, Francisco Alegre Duarte. Speaking in Luanda at a new year greeting ceremony with Head of State Joo Louren§o, Duarte acknowledged the positive state of cooperation between the two nations.

According to Angola Press News Agency, the ambassador emphasized the strong cooperation and friendship between Angola and Portugal, rooted in equality, stability, and fraternity. Francisco Duarte noted the significant contribution of Portuguese companies operating in Angola, highlighting the approximately 1,250 firms, including mixed stock companies, that are creating numerous job opportunities in the country.

The cooperation between Angola and Portugal has seen significant growth in recent years, encompassing several strategic sectors. In a significant development, the two countries signed 12 new cooperation agreements in July 2024, further cementing their partnership across various areas.
