Pope Leo XIV to Deliver Messages of Peace and Reconciliation in Angola

Ndalatando: The priest of the Diocese of Ndalatando, Benedito Sanches, announced that Pope Leo XIV is set to bring messages of peace, reconciliation, dialogue, and forgiveness during his upcoming visit to Angola.

According to Angola Press News Agency, the prelate urged society to heed the messages of the Supreme Pontiff, emphasizing that these messages are not only for Catholics but for everyone who seeks enlightenment through the word of God. He described the Pope's visit as an opportunity for faith, the widespread dissemination of the Gospel, and the proclamation of the Good News.

Benedito Sanches expressed his delight that the Supreme Pontiff has included Angola in his tour of Africa, highlighting its significance as one of the first countries of evangelization on the continent. He stressed the importance of meeting, meditating, and praying with the Pope, who is considered the successor of the Apostle St. Peter, and urged society to prepare for this significant event.

Sister Bernarda Jos© also noted the joy felt by Catholics and others over the Pope's visit, as the Holy Father is seen as a representative of Christ on earth. She encouraged people to welcome him with joy, especially during the Lenten season, which focuses on forgiveness, reconciliation, and peace.

Parishioner Rita Daniel shared her anticipation, noting that the Pope's visit would foster love and reconciliation, particularly among young people who exhibit deviant behavior. She hoped that the Pope's messages would inspire these youths to reflect and amend their ways.

The apostolic visit, scheduled from April 18th to 21st, marks the third papal visit to Angola, following those of Benedict XVI and John Paul II.
