Pope Francis’ Funeral Ceremony Commences in Vatican City

Vatican City: The funeral ceremony for Pope Francis has begun in Vatican City, as the coffin has been brought to St. Peter's Square, a RIA Novosti correspondent reported on Saturday.

According to Namibia Press Agency, US President Donald Trump has also come to Pope Francis' funeral. The leader and his wife Melania were among the last guests to arrive at the ceremony, the correspondent added.

Over 160 delegations from countries and international organizations have arrived to attend the funeral, police authorities of Rome said.

Francis will later be buried in the Santa Maria Maggiore Basilica in Rome.

Pope Francis, the first Latin American pontiff, died on April 21 at the age of 88 at his residence in Vatican City.
