Poni: The sons and daughters of the Dj´r´ region made a civic contribution of 80 tons of cement on Saturday to support the Faso Mªbo initiative, on the occasion of the Bafudji hills marathon and the Days of patriotic commitment and civic participation. The donation handover ceremony took place at the Faso Mªbo site in Gaoua this Saturday morning, in the presence of the region's administrative, military, customary, and religious authorities.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the Minister of Industry, Trade and Handicrafts, Serge Gnaniodem Poda, highlighted that this gesture reflects the commitment of the people of Dj´r´ to respond to the call of the President of Faso, Captain Ibrahim Traor©. "We consulted with each other so that we could, in our own way, participate and respond to this vibrant call from the highest authority of our country, which invites Burkinabe to contribute in a united, collective and endogenous way to the development and well-being of Burkina Faso," Poda stated.
Minister Serge Poda further emphasized that this contribution is a first step and not the last. He noted that the 80 tons of cement will be distributed between the city of Gaoua and several localities, including Bati©, Kampti, Di©bougou, Dano, and Dissin. "We hope that this act will inspire other acts of solidarity, both among citizens and non-citizens, so that everyone, individually or collectively, can support this life-saving initiative on a national scale," he added.
For the high commissioner of the province of Noumbiel, Drissa Hema, the reception of the 15 tons of cement intended for the commune of Bati© is a source of satisfaction. He expressed the gratitude of the beneficiary populations, who will see in this gesture an important support for the beautification of their locality. Alongside the ceremony, the delegation also participated in the paving work on the site.
