Poni: The ancestral Bafuji chief, Kpierl©t© Fr©d©ric Hien, has expressed joy and pride over the adoption of a new law concerning the status of customary and traditional chieftaincy, viewing it as a recognition and enhancement of Burkina Faso's cultural values.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the chief believes this law, alongside the celebration of the Day of Customs and Traditions on May 15, honors the customary authorities.
The chief extended his gratitude to President of Faso, Captain Ibrahim Traor©, for his efforts in promoting cultural and endogenous values. Kpierl©t© Fr©d©ric Hien particularly appreciated the acknowledgment given to traditional justice, highlighting its role in conflict resolution and maintaining social cohesion. He noted that traditional methods often provide a more harmonious solution compared to modern legal proceedings.
Additionally, the village chief raised concerns about the degradation of sacred sites, such as his community's sacred grove, which has been turned into a dumping ground. He called for assistance in protecting and preserving these symbolic places.
Concluding his remarks, the chief assured that prayers are regularly offered to ancestral spirits to protect and guide the President of Faso, his government, the Defense and Security Forces, and all individuals working towards Burkina Faso's liberation and sovereignty.
