Polio Vaccination Advocacy Meeting Held in Ouargaye to Enlist Support from Opinion Leaders.

Ouargaye: Health stakeholders in the Koulpélogo province organized an advocacy meeting on Thursday, November 14 in Tenkodogo to generate the support and involvement of all opinion leaders in the context of the 2nd polio vaccination campaign, noted the AIB. To achieve the objectives of the second polio vaccination campaign plus vitamin A supplementation, deworming and malnutrition screening, health stakeholders in the Koulpélogo province organized an advocacy meeting to gain the support and involvement of opinion leaders in Koulpélogo.

According to Burkina Information Agency, this meeting was attended by the administrative authorities of the Koulpélogo province, with the expectation being to be able to vaccinate 100% of children aged 0 to 59 months. This campaign targets children aged 0 to 59 months for polio, 6 to 59 months for vitamin A supplementation and malnutrition screening, and 12 to 59 months for deworming.

y. Dr. Morou Nikiéma, the district’s chief physician, on behalf of the entire management team, thanked the provincial authorities, as well as partners such as UNICEF and the Centre-East Regional Health Directorate for their commitment to vaccinating children.
