Police swiftly apprehends suspects involved in business robbery at Musina Farm

The Provincial Commissioner of police in Limpopo, Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe, is elated by the swift arrest of a group of suspects linked to the recent business robbery at a farm within the Musina area.

In a collaborative effort, the dedicated members of the Musina Task team and Community Policing Forum working tirelessly around the clock, successfully apprehended the three suspects aged between 22 and 30 shortly after commission of the crime (the next morning).

On Tuesday 03 October 2023 at approximately 20:00, two employees were in their farmhouse not far from the owner’s house, when the armed suspects intruded into their house and suddenly pointed them with firearms. They ordered them to the owner’s house, who was not present. The suspects then grind the safe and ransacked the house. They made off with items worth other R100 000 including two pallets guns, one shotgun, cellphones amongst other properties. The suspects then loaded the stolen goods into the farm owner’s vehicle with a trailer but
the owner arrived and a shootout ensued. The suspects abandoned the vehicle and fled on foot

The suspects were arrested at about 06:30 while hiding in one of the nearby farms, after an extensive search. They were found in possession of some of the stolen items including the three firearms and 120 ammunition. They were also found in possession of house breaking implements.

“The diligent work of this team of members and swift response as well as professionalism are highly commendable The arrested suspects are now in custody and will face the full extent of the law,” Concluded Lieutenant General Hadebe

The three Foreign National suspects will appear in Musina Magistrate’s Court on Friday 06 October 2023, facing charges of business robbery, unlawful possession of firearms and ammunition, possession of suspected stolen properties, possession of house breaking implements and Contravention of the Immigration Act.
