Ondangwa: The Namibian Police Force (NamPol) in the Oshana Region is seeking the public’s assistance in locating Immanuel Ndaoya, known as Cabana, who escaped from the Onandjokwe Hospital at Ondangwa. Ndaoya, a suspect in a housebreaking case, fled the hospital in the early hours of Sunday.
According to Namibia Press Agency (NAMPA), Community Affairs Inspector Thomas Aiyambo, Ndaoya was seriously injured during a housebreaking incident at Omwandi on Saturday, where he cut the roof of a shop to gain entry. He was arrested at Onandjokwe Hospital, where he sought medical treatment, but subsequently escaped.
Aiyambo described Ndaoya as a habitual criminal involved in housebreakings and suspected to be in the areas of Onesheko, Oniipa, Onambambi, Onethindi, Okaku village, and Ondangwa town. He advised the public to avoid confronting the suspect due to potential danger and to contact the Ondangwa police station instead.
In a related incident, a 29-year-old man was arrested for robbing a 43-year-old man of two cellphones valued at N.dollars 9,000 at Oshakati on Friday. The suspect, who fled the scene and sought treatment at Okahao Hospital for a stab wound inflicted during the robbery, is currently under police guard pending his discharge.
Police investigations in both matters are ongoing.
