Police members continue to bring offenders to book

Police members in the Western Cape continue to go the extra mile to ensure that drugs and unlicensed firearms and ammunition are taken off the streets during intelligence driven operations on Thursday 13 July 2023.

Robertson police members conducted an operation in Nqubela. The members responded to information and approached a house in Liwani Street. Upon entering the dwelling, they searched the entire premises and confiscated a consignment of drugs and cash. They arrested and detained a woman on a charge of possession of drugs.

Meanwhile police members attached to Operation Restore were busy with patrols in Macassar when they received information about a male wandering around in Oscar Mpehta Street. When they approached the location they saw a male who fitted the description and searched him. They detained the 28-year-old man when he was found in possession of a 9 mm pistol with ammunition.

In an unrelated intervention the deployment of Operation Restore pursued information about dealing in drugs in Makhaza informal settlement. The information was operationalised and the platoon tactically approached the premises. The police members conducted an intense search and in the process confiscated a consignment of methamphetamine and mandrax. They arrested and detained two males aged 19 and 28 on a charge of possession of drugs.

Once charged the suspects are expected to make their respective court appearances in the Robertson and Somerset West Magistrate courts on the mentioned charges.
