Nahouri: The Pô remand and correctional facility is now operational, marking a significant development for the justice system in the Center-South region, particularly benefiting the province of Nahouri. The announcement was made by Sabila Sawadogo, the Director General of the Prison Administration, through an official information note.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the official activation of the Pô remand and correctional center took place on Thursday, November 28, 2024. The announcement was formalized on Friday, November 29, 2024, when Sabila Sawadogo signed the information note confirming the facility’s operational status. This development indicates a shift in the incarceration logistics for the region, as all prisoners under the jurisdiction of the High Court of Po, previously held in Manga prison, have been relocated to the newly operational facility.

The information note also outlined that visits to inmates can now be conducted at the Pô correctional facility, offering a closer and more acce
ssible location for families and legal representatives in the region. This move is expected to enhance the management and rehabilitation processes within the region’s justice system.
