KUALA LUMPUR: Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed of Ethiopia is urging Malaysian businesses to capitalize on the substantial investment opportunities in Ethiopia’s rapidly expanding economy, following discussions to enhance bilateral collaboration in key sectors.
According to Ethiopian News Agency, Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed, accompanied by First Lady Zinash Tayachew, arrived in Kuala Lumpur on October 25, 2024, after attending the BRICS Summit. During his official visit, Abiy expressed gratitude to Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim and the Malaysian government for their warm hospitality.
In a series of social media posts, Prime Minister Abiy highlighted the agreements reached to deepen collaboration between the two nations in crucial sectors such as trade, investment, agriculture, mining, manufacturing, and renewable energy. He encouraged Malaysian businesses to explore the potential in Ethiopia’s growing economy, emphasizing the vast opportunities available for investment.
