Addis Ababa: Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed has noted the significant progress in Ethiopia's coffee sector, despite the many challenges it faces. Writing on X, Abiy affirmed that coffee remains a cornerstone of Ethiopia's economy, highlighting the country's achievement of producing 1 million tons of coffee annually and an increase in domestic consumption.

According to Ethiopian News Agency, the coffee sector continues to grow, with over 8.5 billion coffee seedlings planted in the past six years as part of Ethiopia's commitment to expanding the industry. The Prime Minister stressed the importance of efficient logistics and value addition in the coffee value chain, calling for continued innovation and hard work to sustain the sector's growth.

Abiy urged all stakeholders to contribute to the advancement of the coffee industry, which plays a critical role in Ethiopia's economic development.
