PM Abiy Expresses Confidence that Ethiopia’s Future is Undeniably Promising, Transformative

Addis Ababa: Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed stated that the current successful developments in Ethiopia will certainly advance the nation, conveying his firm belief that the country’s future is unquestionably promising and transformative.



According to Ethiopian News Agency, in the fourth episode of his exclusive interview with EBC, Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed highlights the government’s efforts to realize its vision of building a prosperous, beautiful, and enviable Ethiopia.



The premier said initiatives are underway to position technology as a key driver for the nation’s sustainable development and prosperity. He indicated that the government envisions creating a nation where the next generation remembers the hardships of the past only as history and lives in a nation transformed by progress and opportunity.



To this end, Abiy mentioned that the government has already embarked on numerous ambitious projects that must be consolidated and expanded. When listing major projects and their successes, the prime minister stated that the completion of the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam marks a historic milestone. He mentioned that the completion of the Koysha Dam and the development of many other energy projects are critical to powering the nation’s growth.



Infrastructural expansion and urban development are vital to national development, the Premier said, noting that the government is working to expand modern cities and infrastructures. Additionally, he stated that the government is focused on enhancing rural corridors and fostering sustainable farming practices that utilize energy sources such as biogas and solar power.



Abiy also explained that emphasis is being placed on producing fertilizers domestically and strengthening investment in manufacturing machinery and tractors to support the agricultural sector. Furthermore, the prime minister said that technology will be central to Ethiopia’s transformation. He stressed the need for the nation to build capacity in hardware production and deepen participation in technological innovation, going beyond establishing software companies.



He further noted that integrating artificial intelligence into production, expanding e-commerce platforms to make goods and services more accessible, and advancing space exploration are all essential parts of the government’s strategy. In short, he believes that institutions such as defense, foreign affairs, agriculture, education, and health must be modernized and strengthened to build a strong nation in the future.



He remarked that these activities will undoubtedly propel the country forward and expressed confidence that Ethiopia’s future is undeniably promising and transformative. Abiy added that Ethiopia will become a source of wonder and admiration on the global stage.
