Nairobi: A disabled beneficiary of the Nyota Programme has expressed gratitude towards the Migori Information Office for facilitating her enrollment in the ongoing Nyota training. Margaret Ajema, a resident of Ayego village in Suna East Sub-County, shared that she was initially contacted on Friday, November 14, to attend the training at Maua Primary School in Meru County.
According to Kenya News Agency, Ajema felt uncertain and confused, as she believed the training should occur at the location where she applied. Seeking assistance, she approached the Information Office, where intervention by authorities, including Cyril Odede, the Principal Secretary for the State Department for Public Investment and Assets Management, enabled her to join the Nyota beneficiaries at Muslim Primary School in Migori town on Monday, 17.
The Suna Sub-County Nyota Programme Centre Coordinator, Geoffrey Ounda, confirmed that Ajema would receive support and integration into the training programme to maximize her benefits. "We will assign her a trainer and give her the manual to help her understand the programme better," Ounda stated.
The training concluded on Monday, 17, at Muslim Primary School in Suna Central Ward-Suna East Sub-County, with 235 Nyota trainees participating. Among them were seven individuals living with disabilities, all of whom gained from training that covered entrepreneurship skills and provided start-up capital.
