Gnagna: The Piela Vocational High School distinguished itself on Saturday, April 25, 2026, as a true melting pot of technical excellence and local innovation, on the occasion of Technician Day, an initiative welcomed by administrative and security authorities and stakeholders in the education system.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the event was dedicated to promoting vocational and technical training, with effective participation from local authorities, professionals, teachers, students, and parents. It aimed to highlight the strategic importance of technical training in a national context marked by security challenges and a desire for resilience.
The ceremony took place with the second vice-president of the special delegation of Piela, Ms. Damolga Banhanla, whose presence added an institutional air to the event. In her speech, Ms. Banhanla praised the commitment of the organizers and the determination of the learners, urging them to strive for excellence and contribute to the development of Burkina Faso.
Exhibitions and practical demonstrations were the highlights of the day. In civil engineering, learners presented models of F2 and F3 type buildings and R+1 and R+2 structures, showcasing their growing expertise in architectural design. In electrical engineering, achievements such as assemblies of sirens, timers, traffic lights, and photovoltaic lighting systems were featured, addressing current energy challenges.
This day also facilitated exchanges between learners and professionals, promoting the sharing of experiences and encouraging young people to pursue technical professions. The school principal, Mr. Lompo Diamoidi Amos, expressed the ambition to institutionalize this activity and expand its scope, aligning with the challenges of vocational training in Burkina Faso.
