Piela: Education Professionals Trained in IT to Improve Their Professional Performance

Piela: Members of the Piela Education Staff Mutual (MUPEP) benefited on Saturday, March 14, 2026, from a computer training session organized at the Hambili Erich Reck Protestant private primary school, with a view to strengthening their professional skills.

According to Burkina Information Agency, this initiative aims to equip participants with practical knowledge in office automation, including the creation and organization of digital files, word processing, and the use of spreadsheets for calculating school averages.

The first module, dedicated to file management, was delivered using an approach combining theoretical presentations and practical exercises. The second module, focusing on word processing software, allowed participants to practice entering documents and inserting tables, signatures, and dates.

The president of MUPEP, Ms. Tankoano/Mano Banhanla, welcomed the training, which she deemed crucial for the members of the mutual, particularly given the gradual introduction of information and communication technologies into the Burkinabe education system. She expressed her gratitude to the various stakeholders for their contribution to the success of the event and encouraged the participants to make the most of the training they received.

The various modules were led by local teachers, thus highlighting local expertise. On behalf of the trainers, Mr. Tingnegre Gregoire thanked the mutual insurance company's management for the trust placed in them, while urging the participants to increase their practical exercises to consolidate their learning.

At the end of the work, the participants expressed the wish to see a new session organized entirely devoted to the spreadsheet, a request that was welcomed by the executive office of MUPEP.

For his part, Mr. Mathieu W. Ouedraogo, head of the Piela Basic Education District, welcomed the successful completion of the training and invited the beneficiaries to put the acquired knowledge into practice in order to improve their professional performance.
