Luanda: Petro de Luanda confirmed their invincibility record in the first leg of the top division National Football Championship, ‘Girabola-2024/25′, by beating Sagrada Esperan§a da Lunda-Norte, 2-0, on Tuesday, Feb 11, in a match to adjust the calendar for the 14th round. Played at the 11 de Novembro stadium, in Luanda, the goals were scored at 83′ and 86’ minutes by Hossi and Julinho, respectively.
According to Angola Press News Agency, these three points guaranteed the ‘Tricolores’ (Petro’s nickname) the holding of the lead in the competition, with 39 points, against 32 points for Wiliete, who are in second place, and 28 points for 1º de Agosto, who are in third. Sagrada Esperan§a remain in 8th place with 18 points, while Isaac de Benguela is at the bottom of the standings with 9 points.
The Girabola 2024/25’s second leg kicks off on the 19th of this month, according to the Angolan football federation’s schedule.
