Péni: The agricultural Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland (VDP) in Péni have initiated their field preparations following the first rains in the region. This marks the official start of the agricultural season for the commune as of Wednesday, June 10, 2026. According to Burkina Information Agency, the agricultural VDPs gathered at their farming site, mobilizing to prepare plots designated for sowing. Their efforts are aimed at ensuring a productive season, despite facing resource constraints. Daouda Ouattara, the representative of the agricultural VDPs, stated that this period is suitable for commencing agricultural activities. He expressed optimism about achieving a fruitful harvest, even with limited resources, highlighting the VDPs' proactive approach.
